So what is Alternative Provision (AP)?

The Department for Education defines alternative provision as education arranged by local authorities for pupils who, because of exclusion, illness or other reasons, would not otherwise receive suitable education; education arranged by schools for pupils on a fixed period exclusion; and pupils being directed by schools to off-site provision to improve their behaviour.

Cambridge Sports Development Foundation offers ‘AP’ to all Schools/Colleges in the City and local area, and we are very proud of the ongoing success of our programs.

We are Quality Assured by Cambridge City Council – you can find us in the Local Directory

We emphasise that the provision is based on ALL sports in a healthy, fresh environment, and is a mix of fun, learning, health & fitness and getting outside in the fresh air.

Our coaches/mentors are DBS Certified and all have actioned various Safeguarding Courses and continue to develop their skills, for the benefit of the student. They each offer different skills to the students, including:

  • Health & Fitness
  • Rugby
  • Boxing
  • Football
  • Nutrition
  • Gym Safety
  • Workouts
  • Board Games/Puzzles

And more

Our facilities continue to develop, but we have 6 full rugby pitches, a gym, and indoor area (if the weather turns). We have various options available to Schools/Colleges, from 1 coach working with up to 3 students.

If you are interested in discussing the opportunities further for any of your students, just get in touch.

Additionally, we are always looking for added support, either in the form of donations, sponsorship, or volunteering. To discuss this further, please get in touch.

Finally, we are always on the lookout for suitable Coaches/Mentors who would be keen to help the young people. It really is very rewarding, and the perfect role to enhance your skills, and spend a bit of time giving back to the Community
