The game takes place at the RAG on Friday 20th February 2026 and kicks off at 7.45pm
Here’s Craig:
” Whilst we missed out on the win at Nottingham last Friday I reckon Scottish at home, Richmond at home and Pirates away were probably more disappointing because we didn’t fire any shots. I’m proud of how we played on Friday in pretty tough conditions – we were really mature and wrestled them. They put pressure on us and we stood up to it, which was cool, so no I wouldn’t say it was disappointing at all. But,yeah, we’ve missed another one so that would be frustration more than anything at the result – not at the product. If that can come across as a positive then hopefully it does because we were outstanding in lots of the rugby we played in very tough conditions. We didn’t execute the last line out so didn’t give ourselves a chance to finish the game off. I know the players are hurting from that moment as well – we just didn’t get it right.
“For three out of the last four games we’ve been in a position to take the win. There’s a lot that’s good going on – we’re obviously trying to control what we can and we keep our game plan pretty simple – despite the results there’s a lot to be proud of. We’ve been together now for nine months which means we’re still a young group. We’d really love to get that win – we’ve got a point again away from home so you know we’re sneaking closer but we could with four or five points at a time now.
“I think we remember the way that we played here against Richmond and we’ll isolate this game and look at it as one that we were really disappointed with our own performance and about how good they were on the day and and how good they’ve been at times since that day – they are a good side so we’re going to have to be really respectful and really determined to prepare well. I’d just love us to go and put our best foot forward and whatever that looks like at the end of the day as long as we’re learning how to to win those big moments that win will come. Richmond won’t be taking us lightly. This is a big game for them as well – so we’re lucky every game is a final for us and this will be no different on Friday”.
Skipper Ben Adams is still unfit – Dan Eckersley captains the side. Eli Caven returns from injury on the wing. Jamie Annand will make his return from the bench – Gareth Baxter is set to make his 199th appearance for Cambridge.
