Here’s Richie: “It has been an absolute honour and a privilege to be able to lead such a vibrant and unique club, but at the same time, it’s important to recognise that change is always a good thing and can act for a catalyst for an even brighter future.
“Last weekend was bittersweet in many ways. The game and performance served as a timely reminder of what this team is capable of achieving. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been ‘consistent’ enough this season and ultimately results haven’t been where a lot of people would have expected. I am however optimistic about what this group can achieve over the next few months and would like to wish Anthony Allen and Neil Harris the best of luck in the interim.”
“In our final game of 2024, we travel to Goldington Road to face a dangerous and wounded beast in Bedford Blues. Our hosts will be fired up, after losing a disappointing game against Chinnor in the previous round of league fixtures. No doubt, the atmosphere will be electric, with around 4000 people expected to attend”.
Billy Walker is unavailable which means that Cambridge bring in young development prop, Ollie Marsters. Joe Green, George Bretag Norris and Seb Brownhill return to the squad after missing out last weekend.Saturday’s game will be Ben Brownlie’s 100th appearance. Ben’s in his second spell with the Blood & Sand – many congratulations to him on becoming the Club’s latest centurion.
