Cambridge Rugby have another exciting new addition – bruising centre Levi Reweti.
A product of the Waikato Chiefs academy system, the big, powerful ball-carrier enjoyed a spell with the Taranaki Bulls in the National Provincial Championship before heading over to the nearby shores of Scotland to represent Glasgow Hawks in the Scottish Premiership.
Levi joins Cambridge Rugby directly from New Plymouth Old Boys in New Zealand, having previously studied and played at New Plymouth Boys High School, one of New Zealand’s top breeding grounds for the All Blacks.
Levi can’t wait to get started at Ellgia Fields: “I’m really excited to be joining Cambridge and to test myself in the Champ. I’m looking forward to getting to know the boys and getting stuck in.”
Cambridge head coach Craig Newby is similarly excited for Levi to arrive and summed his new signing up in one word: “‘Mana’. Translated into English it means high aura/presence/respect. We welcome this type of leadership into our team and we are really looking forward to welcoming Levi and his young family to our club.”
“Levi is a class act on the field and will add a level of skill and vision from the centre of our backline. His ability to create for himself and others will be an asset to our outside backs and in defence a level of confidence we can build from”.
Don’t miss your chance to see Levi and our other new signings in Champ Rugby action!
