Cambridge Rugby Club, in partnership with the CRUFC Foundation, will host its first large-scale Girl’s Rugby Schools Taster Festival at Grantchester Road on Thursday 6 November 2025.
Schools from across Cambridgeshire will come together for a dynamic and structured introduction to rugby, supported by Cambridge’s 1st XV men, 1923 Academy and women’s team players and Rubies girls’ rugby coaches. Throughout the day, girls will take part in rugby skill sessions, small-sided games, and teamwork challenges designed to build confidence, resilience, and enthusiasm for the sport.
This milestone initiative showcases the club’s growing commitment to women’s and girls’ rugby, celebrating the values of teamwork, discipline, and friendship that sit at the heart of the game. It provides a vital pathway for girls to progress from school participation to club and county representation while strengthening relationships with local schools and communities.
The festival will transform Grantchester Road into a vibrant, high-energy environment, uniting players, coaches, and volunteers in a shared mission to inspire the next generation of female athletes. It is both a celebration of rugby and a demonstration of how sport can empower, connect, and create opportunities.
