Cambridge Rugby can confirm its pre-season fixture schedule as preparations begin for the 2026/27 Nat One season.
With a highly competitive league campaign on the horizon, Cambridge will take part in three challenging fixtures throughout August before opening the National One season away to Birmingham Moseley on Saturday 5th September.
The schedule provides an excellent opportunity for supporters to see the squad in action, while giving the coaching team valuable match preparation ahead of an exciting season.
The pre-season fixtures are:
- Saturday 8th August – Cambridge Rugby vs Havant (Ellgia Fields, 3pm KO)
- Saturday 15th August – Triangular Fixture vs Colchester & Hertford (Ellgia Fields, 3pm KO)
- Friday 21st August – Bedford Blues vs Cambridge Rugby (Goldington Road, 7:45pm KO)
The campaign begins at Grantchester Road as Cambridge welcome Havant for the opening warm-up fixture, before taking part in a competitive triangular fixture against Colchester and Hertford a week later.
Preparations conclude under the lights at the iconic Goldington Road, where Cambridge renew acquaintances with Elior Champ Rugby outfit Bedford Blues on Friday 21st August in what promises to be a fantastic occasion. The two clubs have built a strong relationship in recent seasons, with several familiar faces having represented both sides. The fixture will provide an excellent test against full-time Champ Rugby opposition just two weeks before Cambridge begin their Nat One campaign. Commenting on the fixture, Bedford Blues Chief Executive Officer, Gareth Alred added: “We are delighted to be hosting Cambridge in our first hit out of the new season. We have developed a great relationship with Cambridge and have plans for a special matchday experience.
With a blend of returning players, new additions and exciting young talent looking to impress, the fixtures will offer supporters an early glimpse of the squad as preparations gather pace for what promises to be a fiercely contested Nat One season.
