Cambridge Rugby is delighted to announce the signing of Samoan No.8 Sam Asotasi ahead of the 2025/26 season of Champ Rugby.
Sam Asotasi is an explosive and physical number 8 that loves a big carry and a big hit, weighing in at 108kg and standing 6’3″ tall. Sam was part of the Samoa U20 squad and represented Manuma Samoa before joining Premiership side Saracens in 2023 and has Champ Rugby experience from a loan to Ampthill, which included playing against Cambridge during our first season in the league.
Cambridge Rugby Head Coach Craig Newby says “Sam is a highly talented young man. His ability to carry and hit hard is a key part to his game and I look forward to seeing him play with a big smile on his face doing what he loves.”
Sam’s signing is part of a series of announcements that mark an exciting time for Cambridge Rugby. With all club membership options due to be launched shortly, it’s a great time to be involved so watch this space.
