30 year old scrum half Pete White has swapped the Mob for the Blood & Sand. Pete joins Cambridge from Ampthill, where he made 19 appearances last season, and 38 in total. Pete has also played club rugby for Bedford Blues, Coventry and Northampton Saints.

He started his rugby journey at Northampton BBOB as a four-year-old and has also played for Stourbridge, where he made 90 appearances across four seasons while studying at the University of Worcester. Pete’s also coached and played at Broadstreet.

Blood & Sand Head Coach Richie Williams says:

“To pick up someone as experienced as Pete is a real coup for us as a club. He has spent a number of years in the Championship and will provide us with some real direction to our game. He is a fierce competitor and someone I have admired from afar. I am confident that he will further enhance our game”.

26-year-old 6-foot scrum-half Ruaridh Dawson has joined Cambridge from Cornish Pirates.

Consett-born Ruaridh has played for Scotland U20s, England Under 18 counties and the England Commonwealth Youth 7s side. He’s also played club rugby for Newcastle Falcons and Blaydon.

Ruaridh had two spells at Cornish Pirates, racking up 66 appearances – and was instrumental in Pirates’ comeback at the Mennaye as they eventually pulled away to beat the Blood & Sand.

Cambridge Head Coach Richie Williams says:

“Ruaridh has been one of the standout scrum halves in the Championship for the past 2 seasons and was one of the key components in helping Cornish Pirates to a 2nd place finish in the Championship this season. He has a real energy to his game and I look forward to seeing him bring that tempo to Cambridge. We are extremely fortunate to now have some real quality and depth in this key position”.
