Our wonderful U14s took on St Jo’s as a curtain raiser for the Rams game. We kicked off at noon, with a guest referee (many thanks, you were great) and had to face some hard running from a handful of strong runners.
We stayed strong and only let them in four times, as they pressed hard with their big fellas and their slinky winger. The forwards battled incredibly well, securing ball and working hard in the set piece elements.
A pep talk at half time, led by our skipper Bucky Junior and some wise words from our coaches, saw the lads change shape in the second half. We managed to secure a far better ref for the second half and all the guns were blazing. We scored three amazing tries and St Jo’s hardly got a look in. The hands were amazing and the intent at the breakdown was something to behold.
Thanks to all the supporters and for sticking around and boozing, an important part of the day.
