Inner Warrior team enjoyed their trip to Ely, whose ladies team were hosting for the first time in over 30 years!
5 players from Cambridge teamed up with 7 from Cambridge University and 3 from Biggleswade to take on Ely/March and St Ives/Saffron Walden.
First match was tough against a very strong Ely/March side, but Cambridge defended brilliantly, forcing their first try attempt to be held up. Ely/March went on to score 2, and the match ended 10-0.
The second match against St Ives/Saffron Walden started strong with a great try from Rose (CURUFC), followed by another from Angel (CURUFC). St Ives/Saffron Walden came back with 2 tries, but 2 more tries from Cambridge (Britni borrowed from Ely, assisted by Princess, Cambridge) and Amber (CURUFC) sealed the win from Cambridge. 20-10. Congratulations to everyone who scored for their first ever tries!
Forward of the match went to Rose (CURUFC) for her endless tackles, Back went to Princess (Cambridge) for her physicality and speed on the wing, and Player went to Elsinae (Biggleswade) for a brilliant game playing 10 for the first time.
