On Sunday, Cambridge hosted the second Inner Warrior session of the season, welcoming nearly 60 players from our local cluster.

We kicked off with a training session from Sydney Gregson, Red Rose and Saracens player. It was incredible to have her giving us tips before our matches.

The format was 3 short games in a mini round robin tournament. A combined Cambridge / Ely team took on St Ives / Biggleswade. The opposition put up a strong resistance, making some fantastic tackles and great breaks. However the Cambridge / Ely side soon got on top – Quin Edwards, Natasha Sterecki and Laura Miller both breaking through to put us 26-0 up at half-time. St Ives / Biggleswade made it a real battle in the second half, but we were able to close out the match 31-0.

After a break, the Cambridge / Ely team played a strong March / Saffron Walden / Cantabs side. Cambridge/Ely scored first through Quin who was on a roll today, but the opposition struck straight back. The Cambridge / Ely team worked well together to amp up their game, making hard tackles and some great runs. Two tries scored by Ely players Pia and Clare, and converted by Cambridge player Laura sealed the win.

Forward of the match went to Quin Edwards, and back of the match went to Annie Brewis on her Cambridge debut!

Huge congratulations to women’s player Laura Miller on her selection for Eastern Counties U18s.
