Cambridge Colts

Cambridge Colts are a combined U17s and 18s group of nearly 35 players. We are a diverse bunch, some who are new to club rugby, some who have developed through the age groups at Cambridge. New players are always welcome – we focus on open, fast-flowing rugby, supported and developed by an outstanding group of coaches.

Players interested in joining Cambridge Colts should in the first instance please contact our coaches or team manager (contact details can be found below) who will explain about coming along to try out for Cambridge Colts, membership matters, when we train and play, and answer questions you may have.

The Colts age group brings the two years of sixth-form players together to accelerate their understanding and development of the game. Training is led by experienced RFU qualified coaches, through high-tempo, enjoyable, active learning sessions. The full squad learns the same framework in attack, defence, set piece and open play that is coached to the senior men’s squads at Cambridge. Challenging the player’s skills, increasing their fitness and incorporating team structures pushes their individual play and teamwork to new levels and prepares players for senior rugby at Cambridge, or elsewhere, after leaving school.

Training Times

Training during the season is every Tuesday evening (start 1815), and Sunday morning (start 1100).
