The game takes place at the Paton Field, Caldy and kicks off on Saturday 25th October at 3pm

Here’s Craig:

“Looking at the season so far, we’ve been very good in some areas. When you watch a game back you always reflect in a different way to immediately afterwards. This team is new and a project and it’s going to take time. We need to be patient with each, we need to stick to what we’re trying to do and improve in the areas we can.  We’re very focused on performance goals and making sure we improve on those week on week. Some of those areas that are key to us are improving.  I think if we’re not performing where we want to that’s when the pressure is on – at the moment, we’re just around what we can control.

“We’ve had another disjointed week – there’s a bit of illness in the camp – but we continue to deal with all of those factors as a group in a professional manner. Its always disruptive to lose players late in the week as we did last week, especially key players such as Dylan (Irvine, hooker) and Levi (Reweti, centre) who’ve been performing well for us. Jack Doorey-Palmer came in and got player of the match. We pick the best team we can week-in and week-out. Everybody gets the same treatment whether they’re starting or not, and the group is very tight. The guys are coming in to training with their chests out and smiles on their faces.

“As for Caldy, I really love what they’ve done and what they’re doing. They’re a community club, they’re playing some really good rugby, they’ve made some classy additions over the summer to add some polish to their toughness. They’re unbeaten this season and that’s something else we aspire to. We’re looking forward to another big test this weekend on the Wirral.

“For all sorts of reasons we’ve tried to keep selection as consistent as possible this week. Rhys Fulford is back after missing last Saturday through illness. Levi Reweti also returns. Dylan Irvine is fit. Ben Currie is set to make his first Champ appearance off the bench after recovering from an injury sustained in pre-season. Jamie Annand and Joe Green are both ill or injured.”
