Cambridge Rugby are excited to reveal the signing of combative Kiwi hooker Dylan Irvine.
Last seen on these shores at Champ Rugby rivals Cornish Pirates, Cambridge fans will already have seen him in action when we last travelled to the Mennaye in April. Dylan made his Pirates debut against the Royal Navy having moved from his native New Zealand, where he played for the Marist Nelson club, a rich source of All Black players.
Dylan’s itching to get underway at Ellgia Fields: “I’m really excited to be joining Cambridge Rugby for the upcoming season. I can’t wait to get stuck in, put in the hard work, and see how far this team can go!”
Head Coach Craig Newby is looking forward to the physicality that Irvine will bring to the squad: “Dylan is a typical Kiwi. He’s tough, he works hard, he’s skilful. He has got a good eye for the game and good vision. His core role within the front row is his strength. He loves a scrum and loves to defend hard. He’s a real competitive human so I’m looking forward to unleashing that for this coming season”.
Don’t miss your chance to see Dylan and our other new signings in Champ Rugby action!
