HEAD COACH RICHIE WILLIAMS HAS MADE MINIMAL CHANGES TO HIS SQUAD FOR CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 6 AT DONCASTER KNIGHTS

“The Pirates win seems like a distant memory – and we’ve now got another big game against another fully professional team. Doncaster will be disappointed with the start they’ve made in the league but they picked up a really good result at Caldy last Saturday in the Premiership Cup. With the squad that they have it’s only a matter of time before they gel and that level of cohesion is starting to build. We went up there twice last season and their physicality really stood out. It’ll be a tough match but one we’re looking forward to. Their set piece is strong and their squad is littered with Premiership quality – it’s the sort of game we have to front up in and I know the players are relishing the prospect of getting back into action.

“We feel that we’ve got an opportunity this week – we were competitive in both games up there last season. We’ve done our homework on how they’re going to play and hopefully we can go there and execute our game plan. It’s a ground we’re now familiar with and has one of the best playing surfaces in the country. We do feel we were unlucky not to take points from our Championship encounter there last season.

“There’s almost a fully fit squad to choose from this week – ironically, we probably wouldn’t have been in this luxurious position at this point in the season had we been involved in the Premiership Cup!”
