Job Title: Head Physiotherapist

Overview: To provide and oversee physiotherapy and medical support to the Cambridge Rugby 1st XV squad at training and on match days. To work as part of a close MDT to rehabilitate and return players to full fitness post injury.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide pitch side 1st aid for training sessions and matches
- Provide specialist taping for players during training and on match days
- Diagnose and provide immediate medical / physiotherapy treatment of an injury sustained at matches,
training sessions and occasionally out of season - Advise athletes on continuing sporting involvement following full assessment of an injury and refer
athletes to Club Doctor, A&E or GP as appropriate - Provide physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation for all players
- Provide specialist post op rehabilitation for players following surgery
- Provide support and guidance for all players throughout their rehabilitation
- Liaise with coaches and squad managers regarding the injured players progress / status
- Complete and maintain accurate records
- Complete and participate in the CRISP project
- Use sound clinical reasoning to diagnose and treat players and return them to play
- Be Confident in own knowledge base and have a sound understanding of common rugby injuries and
injury risks associated with rugby - Have the ability to work independently in a demanding and often pressurised rugby environment
- Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Have good administrative and IT skills
- Arrange and manage ordering of equipment including gases, tape and rehab equipment.
- Lead and manage the RFU MSC process for the club, and effectively manage the auditing process to
maintain compliance.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Degree level in physiotherapy/ sports rehabilitation/ sports therapy (including relevant HCPC/BASRT/SST
registration) - RFU ICIS qualification desirable
- Valid RFU DBS Certificate
- Postgraduate education in relevant fields advantageous
- Previous proven experience of working within a sports team environment
