Cambridge Rugby is pleased to announce the arrival of 6’4” number eight Jack Bartlett from Coventry ahead of the Club’s second season of Championship rugby.

The 24-year-old started his career at Lydney RFC in Gloucestershire before joining the Gloucester Rugby player development pathway programme at the age of 12. Jack’s gone on to represent England at both U18 and 20 level, made his professional debut for Gloucester in the Premiership Cup in 2018, and played for Hartpury.

Originally a prop forward, he’s also played at hooker and centre before settling in the back row. Jack made 18 appearances for Coventry last term – 13 off the bench.

Blood & Sand Head coach Richie Williams says:

“We are delighted to welcome Jack to Cambridge. He is a player who has both the physical and mental capabilities to become a key figurehead in our forward pack. Having been in a professional environment for the past few seasons, he will help develop the groups positive behaviours.

At times last season, we lacked consistent go forward, which affected our attacking flow. I believe that Jack will be one of the standout number 8’s in the Championship and I am excited to see his growth”.
