We are deeply saddened to share the news that Malcolm Schofield, a long-standing and much-loved servant of the club, passed away last weekend.

Malcolm gave so much to Cambridge Rugby over the years. As former Chairman, Colts Coach, Team Manager, and above all a loyal friend to so many, his contribution went far beyond titles. He offered wisdom when it was needed most, guidance shaped by experience, and an unwavering commitment to the club he cared so deeply about. A gifted player in his own right, Malcolm wore the No. 8 shirt with pride during his playing days, a fitting reflection of the strength and leadership he continued to show throughout his life in the game.

He will be sorely missed, not only for his service, but for his friendship, warmth and presence around the club.

In honour of Malcolm, we will hold a minute’s applause in the 8th minute of today’s match, a tribute to the position he once played and the lasting mark he leaves on us all. We encourage everyone in attendance to join us in celebrating his life and legacy.

Our heartfelt condolences go to Pam and all of Malcolm’s family at this incredibly difficult time. Funeral details will be shared in due course.
