Cambridge Rugby have another new recruit – Royal Navy Leading Hand Chris Mills is on board in the back row for the coming campaign at Ellgia Fields. Englishman Chris has played much of his club rugby in the tough proving ground of Cornwall and knows all about a battle. His swashbuckling performances for both Cornish Pirates in the Champ and Redruth in the National League have seen him selected for the combined British Armed Forces squad and the Royal Navy.
Chris can’t wait to get underway: “I’m very excited to get stuck into the season ahead with Cambridge Rugby. I really like the culture that Newbs is trying to create on and off the pitch and can’t wait to meet and play alongside the other lads in Blood & Sand colours in front of a home crowd”.
Head coach Craig Newby is also looking forward to having Chris on board: “As a highly respected Leading Hand in the Royal Navy, Chris brings a wealth of leadership and experience with him to our squad. His rugby intent and passion does the talking for him and we look forward to Chris setting standards on and off the field”.
