Cambridge Rugby Club would like to announce that Tim Hague will be standing down from his role as Chair of the Board this month, in order to support his wife Gail as she undergoes treatment for illness.

Tim has given an enormous amount of time, energy and commitment to the club during his tenure as Chair. His leadership, professionalism and genuine care for the club and its people have played an important role in guiding Cambridge Rugby through a number of significant developments both on and off the field. Tim’s dedication, integrity and steady guidance have been greatly valued by players, staff, volunteers and supporters alike, and the Board would like to place on record its sincere thanks for the outstanding contribution he has made.

At this time, our thoughts are very much with Tim, Gail and their family. The entire Cambridge Rugby community sends its best wishes and full support to them during this period.

Tim will remain closely connected to the club and has kindly agreed to continue consulting for the Board and staying engaged with a number of key ongoing projects as they progress towards completion. His continued insight and support will be greatly valued during this time.

Following discussions within the Board, it has been agreed that Ali Elsley will step into the role of Interim Chair of the Board until the club’s Annual General Meeting in September.

Ali will be a familiar face to many within the club, particularly those connected with our league-winning Women’s team, where she has been closely involved and has played an important role in the development and success of the programme. Ali brings strong knowledge of the club, a clear passion for Cambridge Rugby, and a commitment to supporting the club through the months ahead.

The Board would like to thank Ali for agreeing to take on this responsibility and for providing continuity of leadership during this period.

Cambridge Rugby remains fully focused on continuing to develop the club both on and off the field, and we look forward to updating members and supporters further as we approach the AGM in September.
