The game takes place at The Bay on Sunday April 20th 2025 – kick off is at 3pm.
Here’s Anthony Allen:
“We’ll be looking to ourselves this weekend rather than paying attention to Nottingham’s defeat at Bedford Blues last Saturday. We scored three tries against Doncaster so fell one short of our minimum requirement from any match. It’s really important that we learn lessons from last weekend and do more to keep us in games for longer – and that point, well, you never know…We have to have that mindset of getting better as individuals and as a team. We can’t take anything for granted this weekend and we need to make sure we’re the best version of ourselves
“We have six games left and we want to take as much as we can from all of them and lay down a marker for next season with some positive momentum. We’ve shown up well on both of our previous visits to the Bay – once in a pre-season friendly ahead of our promotion to the Championship and last year, when, on a freezing Friday night under lights, we were one play away from our first Championship win. We’ll be doing our best to go one better this time out.”
The Blood & Sand will be without two Northampton Saints loans, wing Will Glister and prop Oli Scola, this weekend. Glister’s recent Championship try scoring form sees him in Saints’ squad for the trip to Newcastle – Scola is with England’s Under 19s. Joe Green starts and Zac Nearchou returns from suspension. Saints duo Ewan Baker and Reuben Logan both feature, alongside Bristol Bears scrum half Sam Edwards. Ben Brownlie starts against his former club – Jake Bridges misses a return to the Bay through illness and Cam Murphy takes his place. George Bretag-Norris is also back from injury. Matty Williams is unavailable.
Cambridge Line Up:
15-Ewan Baker, 14-Joe Green, 13-Sam Hanks, 12-Matt Hema (C), 11-Eli Caven, 10-Joe Tarrant, 9-Pete White, 1-Jake Ellwood, 2-Ben Brownlie, 3-Billy Walker, 4-George Bretag-Norris, 5-Kayde Sylvester, 6-Iestyn Rees, 7-Joseph Gaffan, 8-Reuben Logan, 16-Morgan Veness, 17-Zac Nearchou, 18-Cam Murphy, 19-Matt Dawson, 20-Ben Adams, 21-Sam Edwards, 22-Louis Grimoldby, 23-Josh Skelcey
