“Coventry is a place I know well – I was there for a few years! iI’s a good rivalry we’ve built over the years in all different leagues so Friday Night Lights on Cov’s 4G should be good fun. It’ll be a lot more fun after our performance against Ealing last Saturday. It was a good performance, but I wouldn’t say it was ‘great’ – we still have things to work on. We’ve still got learnings that need to be put into practise. So in the end, we still lost to the number one team, but we pushed them for a large portion of the game until those final minutes, which was the most disappointing part. We pretty much ran them much closer than anybody has this season, and that’s also another frustration because they haven’t lost a single game and we’ve managed to push them that far. So, the squad’s capable of it, I truly believe that, and that showed in parts in that game.
“We’ll be playing back in National League One next season – relegation is part of our game and we have to deal with the consequences of our own results and actions. But we still have to focus on the rest of the Championship season. Cov lie to play running rugby – as do we -they’ve no shortage of speed, they love to ‘play’ and when someone sees a half opportunity, a half chance, they’re going to take it. So it’s always entertaining at the newly-named Nick Newbold Stadium. It’s definitely been one of the toughest seasons I’ve been a part of. One thing that has really shone through though is the closeness of the group. I think we’re a squad of just good blokes and there’s been some unlucky instances but what’s really shone through is the memories we’ve made. One way or another we’re going to remember this season forever, so hopefully, hopefully, we can get that first win this weekend and make some more memories”.
